The Western

The Western is ideally situated for the Walkers Stadium and Tigers at Welford Road. It provides a unique environment with its vast array of quality ales for students and locals.

A real bustling traditional pub superb for warming the cockles, celebrating or commiserating with a drink after the game or just relaxing next to the open fire.

Serves very reasonably priced quality food aimed at the student market. Sunday lunch is especially popular with the students to remind them of mothers cooking. Why not settle in for the afternoon next to the open fire and enjoy our Sunday night quiz in an attempt to win the gallon of ale.

There is an excellent upstairs function room for parties of up to 30 seated and 60 standing for birthday parties, pre-match lunches, post-match dinners we have even hosted local theatre productions and art exhibitions.

Back in the lounge area we are host to many acoustic nights and larger birthday parties with live music.

The Western has the biggest beer garden in the area with regular summer BBQ’s and Beer Festivals. You can even hire areas of the garden specifically for you and your guests.

Well behaved dogs are very welcome at The Western in the bar areas and in the garden, water bowls are available for thirsty pooches too, ideal after a long walk and a pint of one of cracking ales for you too!!
